I live in Canada, and work in a popular tourist area. Canada is a great tourist destination, less crowded than most places in Europe or the USA, and we welcome you to our home.

Places to See in Canada

Canada is a vast country with many travel opportunities. British Columbia has many diverse tourist locations, from the beauty of Victoria, to Vancouver, a bustling port city, to the Okanagan wineries and orchards. To the Rocky Mountains for hiking in the summer and skiing in the winter. To the massive West Edmonton Mall, in Edmonton, Alberta. Alberta also has many historical sites, including Drumheller for people who love prehistoric animals and dinosaurs.

As we cross the prairie provinces and into Ontario, a person can travel to Canada's largest city, Toronto, or capital city, Ottawa. Ontario borders on the great lakes, and is home to Niagara Falls. Further east into Quebec, tourists will love historic Montreal, noting the French culture, and language, of Quebec. Then there are the maritime provinces, rich in culture, history, and tradition. Tourism to northern Canada is not as common.

Canada is a massive country, you will not be able to see it all in a short trip. If you only have a week, plan on seeing only one, or two at the most, provinces. Some people enjoy renting a recreational vehicle and driving from one city (such as Vancouver) to an other (such as Calgary or Edmonton), with stops in between; camp grounds are common, however most tourists enjoy staying in one of the many Hotels, or Motels, that Canadian cities offer. Bed and Breakfast stays are available but are not as common in Canada as they are in the UK.

Planning on Saving Money when Traveling to Canada

Generally when it comes to finding cheap vacation packages and deals for Canada, there are a few things you can do in regards to planning your trip. Most tourism to Canada is in the summer, with winter being popular mostly for skiers. As such planning your trip in the spring or fall can mean great savings and the weather is still good in most areas. September can be a great time to travel as kids are back in school and temperatures are still pretty good.

By staying more than two nights at a hotel a person can often get a deal. By checking room rates for the different days of the week, a person might also be able to find additional savings, noting that in popular tourist areas rates are often higher on the weekend, but in some cities they may be higher during the week.

If you are interested in travel to Canada you will want to plan your trip in advance, especially if traveling in the summer, or to a ski destination. To find great deals you can check sites such as Smart Destinations, or Easy Click Travel. You can also phone the hotels and motels and ask them about deals and discounts.
