Utah's Castle Country invites visitors across the globe to spend their holidays and week-ends in a lovely manner. The Tourism Office is waiting to serve them at the best possible way.

salient features

Utah's Castle Country invites the visitors to visit their beautiful area and experience the many recreational, cultural and business opportunities they have to offer. They invite us to visit their mountain lakes, State Park, and thousands of acres of wide spaces to enjoy camping, fishing, water sports, biking, and hiking, horseback riding, OHV riding and much more.

They are home to Nine Mile Canyon where the renowned Great Hunt Panel is located. The canyon is 40 miles long and the sheer cliffs are said to be the world's longest art gallery due to the abundance of rock art that covers the walls. Also, two scenic byways pass through Utah's Castle Country; The Energy Loop National Scenic Byway and the Dinosaur Diamond National Scenic Byway that showcase Dinosaur attractions, rock art, geologic formations, energy production, historic information and spectacular views.

They have two museums that will keep us captivated for hours. The Prehistoric Museum located in Price is an accredited museum with the Hall of Archaelogy and the Hall of Paleontology offering history on Dinosaurs, the Ice Age and Native Americans. The Helper Western Mining and Railroad Museum located in Helper along Helper's historic main street tells us the story of people who worked in underground mining between 1880 and 1950; showcases model trains, themed rooms with real artifacts and views of modern working trains. Helper City is also home to world class artists and their artwork is displayed in historic buildings along Main Street.

safety tips

most areas and sites are on paved roads. Some are accessed via graded gravel, and a few require 4 wheel drive. Most are within a short drive from the communities in the county.

Those areas accessed by 4 wheel drive require long days or overnight stays. Come prepared for a wilderness experience. Carry one gallon of water per day per person (don't forget your pet) as well as water for your vehicle. It is not recommended that you travel to remote sites alone or with only one vehicle. When wet, some roads are impassable even for a 4 wheel drive vehicle. Check weather and road conditions prior to embarking on a trip into the backcountry.

Therefore, the readers may plan a nice trip to Utah, now itself. Happy and safe journey.
