Tips and Guide in travelling solo to the beautiful city of Armenia

Travel Informations,tips and guides

Armenia..where exactly is Armenia? I asked my close friend google and it answer me that it is located in South Caucasus region of Eurasia.Wow cool.I have been born in Asia and with Eurasia it must be almost Europe.Double the cool when the easiest entry point going to Armenia is Dubai where i am presently residing.I booked my round trip ticket thru Fly-Dubai and get the 7:30 am flight since the flight is 3 .5 hours so exactly by 12 pm i will be ready to check in the apartment where I booked thru Airbnb for 6 days. The flight went smoothly and when we arrive it was cold. Of course Dubai is humid so we were excited of the weather in Armenia. In Armenia we often get the Visa upon arrival and and we paid 3000 drams approximately 7$, Getting to the apartment or the hotel we can always request for transfer,There are a lot of taxi in the airport so it is easy but be careful because Taxi driver sometimes get advantage of Tourist like us.The maximum rate the taxi can charge is at 6000 (15$ )for pick up from airport to hotel.

I booked in an apartment in Yerevan city in Komitas Avenue thru Airbnb on my first travel to Armenia and stayed at Arens Place.I was happy with the apartment because all the amenities is complete and very close to supermarkets and the 10 minutes walk to the Metro Station.Om my second time in Armenia I opted to booked a hostel near Republic Square since it is cheaper and i do not need a very fancy hotel since i will be needing it for sleep only and more practical. When travelling to Armenia always remember to bring a 2 pin round adapter,Most of the hostel in Yerevan always have a free breakfast and normally it will start from 9 am to 11 am.Most of the hostels are always mixed,Men and Women. Its normally in bunk beds with 4 bunk beds in the room and share washroom. Also it will have a common living room and kitchen for the guests.

City Tour

I booked in Yerevan hostel just 5 minutes walk to Venissage Open Market.I was really in awe with the market with all the paintings and the carved and handmade Armenian Souvenirs. What caught my attention was the Natural Stones with natural flower bracelets. They are quite pricey but we have to tug and pull for the discounts.Just 2 minutes walk from the market is the swan lake.I love sitting on that place just watching passerby and it is really relaxing and then just a few meters away would be the republic square..Its normally my stopover on my way out to roam in the city or going back to hostel and with free WiFi..Also while sitting on the Republic Square there are coffee trucks available and the ice cream stalls. And you can try and taste Armenian food especially their pork barbecue, head out to Karas Armenian cuisine, although their food servers are not the nicest but the food is great. It is just opposite the ice cream stalls and close to Republic Square,When you are already full you can walk going to Cascade Complex passing thru the North Avenue and passing the Opera. Some Armenians can understand a bit of English and they will gladly help you with directions.Once on that area you can climb on top of the cascade complex with the escalator passing from the gallery or you can climb the steps. And then check out Mother Armenia from the top wherein you can see the Pink City which is Yerevan,
Also I did visit the genocide museum which really pinch my heart. When i went to the flame after looking and learning about the genocide it really pains me and i shed a tear for those victim of the genocide.I notice that that place was so sacred to the Armenian People and they are extra sensitive how we behave inside so lets respect that place.if you roam around Yerevan you can drop by some places which we look expensive form the outside but when we go inside the price is fine.

Guided Tours

I suggest when you go to Armenia you have to get the Guided Tours,Armenia has a very rich culture and you will really love Armenia. From the Monasteries to the green valleys and mountains its just awesome. You can get in touch with Armenia Guide, you can find their details in Facebook. They will provide you their excellent service with a very well informative tour guide. You have to request for Chinar. She is a local and the best guide,Armenia Guide have daily packages and tours and you can just chose where you want.As for me i stayed for 6 days so i get to tour Armenia a whole lot.But the most unforgettable and beautiful places i have been during the tour was the Samosavanc Monastery, the Fortress Ruins,Nouravanc and Khor Virap. There are still a lot of places to visit if you have a lot of time,Also you just cannot go in the Guided tours without visiting Garni Temple and Geghard monasteries. To wrap it Up i was in love with the beautiful Armenia that i had come back again and I will still come back again.
