Travel Guide: Top 5 Things to Do in Singapore

Throughout my travel and studies on world geography and history, I have either been to or researched on thousands of cities throughout the world. Singapore consists of beautiful sights and wonderful people. Here are the top 5 things to do and places to see while you are in Singapore:

National Museum of Singapore
Considering that it is one of the oldest museums in Singapore, it is very well-preserved despite it being established in 1887. The museum proudly documents the evolution of the country and also throws light on the cultural aspects of the people.

Asian Civilizations Museum
This unique museum offers a unique chance to discover not only the local Singapore history of art and culture but that of entire south Asian. Friday's after 7pm you can look for a discounted visit.

Singapore Philatelic Museum
The Singapore Philatelic Museum is a treasure trove of historical moments of Singapore and leaders of the country. This museum is a definite must visit place for all visitors of Singapore.

Peranakan Museum
The Peranakan museum provides great insight into the unique Peranakan culture. This is a culture that emerged when the first Chinese settlers in Indonesia continued to settle in adjoining islands and eventually arrived on Singapore's shores. Their contribution to the growth of Singapore is noted in the various business houses of the city as well as the cuisine and cultural practices.

Singapore Botanic Gardens
Last on my list is the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Here, travelers can walk through the rainforest to get to the orchid garden, which contains over 1,000 orchid species. The Botanic Gardens is truly a beautiful and relaxing attraction.
