'LOVE' was the force that led to the construction of one of the seven wonders of the world.....'The Taj Mahal'.

Gift of love

The marvelous Taj Mahal was constructed during the Mughal rule in India. It was Emperor Shsh Jahan's token of love for his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Mumtaz died in childbirth. And Shah Jahan in her memory.....gave orders for the construction of the most beautiful structure of the world. He demanded that it should be unique and new to all. He expressed his love through the gift which was one in a million undoubtedly.

World Heritage Site

It was constructed between 1632 and 1654. In 1983, the Taj Mahal became a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was cited as "the jewel of Muslim art in India and One of the universally admired masterpieces of the world's heritage."

It is a mausoleum located in Agra and is made up of white marble.....and as i term it as 'The White Beauty', And it stands true to it's term.

Beauty of love

It is located between formally laid out walled gardens. Ustad Ahmad Lahauri is regarded as the principal designer of the Taj Mahal. It is a great example of true love and the splendour of an era. One of the unique feature of the Taj is that it changes it's colour. It turns pearly pink at dawn while opalescent by moonlight. It is truely breathtaking and tourist's atttraction. People from all over the world come to India to have a glimpse of this beauty.

Wonders....

It is indeed a worth watching wonder. And as per my knowledge, Shah Jahan cut the hands of the workers so that they can't replicate it. But that is still an event of the past and i can't give any evidence of that. Today, in India small replica of the Taj are gifted by lovers to express their love. The pictures of Taj, it's decorative replica and cards are considered as token of love. It is a symbol of true love.

Due to pollution and acid rains however......corrosion is taking place. It is a major concern therfore and our responsiblity to protect this unique structure. Some lovers curve their names on the walls of this beauty....which is a crime and a very foolosh act also. I request all Indians as well as tourists to look after this property. Don't curve names and symbols....it is illegal and silly. Respect and protect this wonder, Spread awareness! Also stop the ones who cause harm to it in front of your eyes.
