Things That You Can Do In Downtown Milwaukee

If you are planning to visit Milwaukee come and see some of things that the downtown has to offer. Some of things in this article will cover some of those things that visitors can expect to see in the downtown area.

Downtown Milwaukee

Downtown Milwaukee is a very interest part of the city. Did you know before it was called Wisconsin Avenue, the previous name for the street was Grand Avenue. There are some interesting things to see and to do while you visit the downtown area. There some interesting buildings which some of them that date back in the mid to late 1800's. If you come to visit Milwaukee checkout some of these interesting building.

Shopping

If you are a person who enjoys to go shopping, then of the first places that you might want to checkout in the area is the Shops of Grand Avenue. The shops of Grand Avenue was opened around 1982 and it was one of the premier attraction around the time. It is still an interesting place for visitors and other people to go and shop. One of the main stores there is Boston Store which was in the downtown area for a long time and along with T.J. Maxx are a few of the big names in the mall. Also checkout some of their specialty stores that is open in the store. If you get hungry go to their food court to get some lunch. Also checkout some of the other stores in the that are outside near the mall.

Banking

If you are planning to be in the downtown area and need to go a bank there are some different banks also in the area. Some of the big name banks are in the downtown area which includes Chase and Guaranty Bank (this bank is located in the mall) and US Bank. Some of these branches are normally the main office branches of the city.

Excellent Restaurants

Besides the food court in the Shops of Grand Avenue, there some great local restaurants. One of the interesting restaurants in the area is Mo's Irish Pub. They serve one of the best Irish style foods around. There is also Mader's, which serves awesome German style food.on Old World Third Street that serves some of the great German food in Milwaukee. There is also an Applebee's restaurant in the Shops of Grand Avenue.

Awesome Entertainment

If you enjoy entertainment and you are looking to where to go, then there are a couple of excellent places to go see while you are in the downtown area. Couple of excellent places to go are the Pabst Theater and the Riverside Theater, they provide some of the greatest entertainment to the downtown Milwaukee. Another great venue to go see while visiting is the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra. There is also some of the great museums that are located in the area. Some of the museums that you would find are there are the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee Public Museum, Milwaukee County Historic Society to name a few.

Looking For Colleges

For those who are planning to further their education, there are some excellent colleges that are located in the downtown area. The colleges that you will find in Downtown Milwaukee are: Marquette University, Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). These are a couple that you will find in the downtown area, with another just south from there in Third Ward which is Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). These are colleges has some great programs in education.

Looking For A Hotel

There is are some great hotels for people who are looking for a place to stay in the downtown area. The Hilton, The Hyatt, Pfister Hotel, Hampton Inn and Suites are some of the hotels that you are able to find in the downtown area. There are some that are in everyone's price range. As of this writing there are some hotel that are in the process are being built in the downtown area including the hotel at the Potawatomi Bingo Casino in the Menomonee Valley.
