They are Gone So Fast

Perhaps you will feel the same with what I feel now. Everything are changed so fast and then you realize "They are Gone !".

I Grew Up Here

I moved from South Kalimantan to Bandung, as a Capital City of West Java, in 2005. I left this city for almost 15 years. My childhood was in Bandung. I grew up in this lovely city. Bandung was famous as "Paris Van Java" because of its beautiful scenery. Bandung is mountainous area and it is surrounded by some mountains. Years before, every where you go, you would see padi fields, little jungles, small blue rivers and some small waterfalls.

Naturally Beautiful

I was born on Setiabudhi street in northern of Bandung. It is still in my mind clearly, I went to school by foot, passed some paths of farming areas and washed my feet at small and clean pond where the water came from waterfalls of some green hills around the area. Butterflies flied above some mountain orchids and jasmines. They were so beautiful. And when I felt thirsty, I just picked some kind of grass with five sepals (sorry, I do not know the name) and chewed it. The taste of the water was rather sour but it was so fresh.

They were Changed So Fast

Then, in 2005 when I just came from South Kalimantan, I was so shock. Setiabudhi street was not like it supposed to be. The street was full of shops, restaurants and hotels. Only in 15 years, every things were changed so fast. I could not see beautiful padi fields from the street directly because they were hidden by some big buildings. Perhaps, I should walk around those buildings before seeing the beautiful scenery I yearned. Some bungalows built at the foot of the hills and I could not see my waterfalls because they were covered by some buildings. And where were the beautiful butterflies, natural mountain orchids and jasmines? They were gone !

Nothing Naturally Beautiful

Years I have been living in Bandung now, nothing I can see naturally beautiful. As human beings, we are lost. Off course I can see orchids, jasmines and other flowers, but they are not naturally grow in nature. Lots of padi fields are also gone. Economically, Bandung is a wealth and modern city but this city is not the same anymore.

Hallo Jayababy, our world is changed a lot because of technology and economic development. They are good but they are also destroying our nature. Thank you for passing by, my friend.

Yes, you are right Starrleena my friend. We can not see and feel the same air because of the development. Bandung is hotter right now. Thank a lot for sharing.

They do the same in the UK, covering up the countryside with their little red box shaped houses.

So sad, MidgetGem. Our world is not as good as years ago. Human beings exploit it too much. Thank you for posting.

Hallo Buzz, my friend. Once development touch our nature, the nature will not be the same anymore. There are like two contradiction sides, we need both of them. So sad off course. Thank you so much for passing by.

Bandung was really a paradise for me when I was a child. The paradise is gone now, Carol. For me, it is our big lost. Thank you so much for stopping by.
