The article speaks about excellent Durga Puja mandap at Falguni Sangha Durga Puja situated in Gariahat area in Kolkata.

Falguni Sangha Durga Puja.

The Falguni Sangha Durga Puja in 2013 was a class of it own. The Puja Mandap is situated in a road adjacent to Ekdalia Evergreen Club.

Pandal.

At the external part of the Pandal, there is depiction of the three Gods of Hindus, Brahma, Vishnu and Maheshwara.

Position of Vishnu.

Very significantly Vishnu had been depicted in a sleeping posture the way it is called "sayita" in Padmanabhaya Temple in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala.

Story of Ramayana and Mahabharata.

On both sides of the pandal, there were depiction of stories of the great epics Ramayana and Mahabharata in Falgani Sangha Durga Puja.

Idols.

The characters of Mahabharata like Arjuna, Bhima and others were in the form of idols and their events were depicted in story form.

Stories.

The stories of the great hindu epic Ramayana and Mahabharata was depicted even inside the mandap and on both sides of Durga Idol.

Idol.

The Durga Goddess inside the pandal was one of form of Ekchala Durga Goddess and it was very traditional depiction of Maa Durga.

Laxmi and Saraswati.

The children of Durga Goddess namely Laxmi, Saraswati, Karthika and Ganesha were also made in the same traditional style.

Area.

Falguni Sangha had made their main pandal in the middle of the road. On both sides of the road decorations are made and the stories of Ramayana and Mahabharata are displayed on the enclosed decoration.

Falguni Sangha.

Falguni Sangha had remained quite underrated Durga Puja in Kolkata due to serious competition of Ekdalia Evergreen and Singhi Park, but in 2013, the Puja Committee did a great job with the theme.

Falguni Sangha.

The theme of Mahabharata, Ramayana and Durga Puja had been the same. In all these cases, there is history of good forces defeating the evil forces. So the message of end of evil, and projection of dharma is visible in Falguni Sangha.
