Did you know that travel can impact lives? Today, many people see vacation as an opportunity to touch lives and you can also touch a life when you travel to Ghana West Africa to volunteer.

You Will Be Happy When You Volunteer

When I was much younger, my Sunday School teacher told a moving story of how a stranger on donkey back came to the aid of a man who had been beaten by robbers.

This man was moving from Jerusalem to Jericho. On the way, he was attacked by robbers. They beat him up and dumped him into a busy nearby.
A priest passed by but he couldn’t help him because he was in a hurry to perform his priestly duties. Another man passed and he didn’t help him too.

Lastly, a Samaritan passed by. On seeing the man, he ran to him and cleaned his sores with his torn cloths. He then put him on his horse and they sped off to a clinic nearby.

He paid for his treatment and promised to come back to see how well he was responding to treatment.
Today, many tourists are like this good Samaritan ; and in a desire to satisfy their wanderlust, they do end up bringing smiles to many locals who have lost hope in themselves.

In Ghana, the role many travelers play cannot be overemphasized. They give their time and even material resources to care for the poor, homeless, and even the physically challenged.

Deciding to volunteer when you travel to Ghana is one of the wisest decisions you would ever make.

Here’s why:

Volunteering lets you make a difference in the community you serve. There’s nothing refreshing than seeing that you are touching lives that were once lost to despair and poverty.

The rewards may not only be material but what you experience within yourself is this great joy and peace as you wholeheartedly touch the lives of people around you.

You can be an agent of change if you dedicate your time and energy to make life a better place for the poor folks you come into contact with while you travel to Ghana.

Once you become a force for change, your name will remain in their minds and hearts for a long time.
Some locals who are touched by your generosity will even name their new borns after you as their expression of gratitude.

You really do not have to have the world’s riches at your disposal to lit up the souls of people you meet.

Renowned women like Florence Nightingale and Mother Theresa were not women of substance but we hold them in high regard because of their generosity and you can be held in high esteem if you dare make a difference too.

If you faithfully dedicate your time and effort to restoring the dignity of someone, your name will be on the minds of the affected victims and they will tell others about you.

That’s not all you’ll experience as a giver. Getting down in the trenches enables you to learn more about the culture and history of the people. In this way, you are able to understand why the people behave the way they do.

Aside all these benefits that comes from giving yourself to serve, you need to understand that travelling to volunteer in Ghana is a labor of love.

Thus, you need a great deal of patience, love, and determination to succeed on the field.

Remember, when you leave your mark on the world, the world will leave its mark on you. So Ghana awaits your kind touch.
