Oslo is the capital city of Norway and it is surrounded by hills laden with forests and peaks besmeared with snow. Oslo is known as a principal port in Europe and it is tipped as one of the foremost industrial cities in the continent too. The city is home to some of the finest places of tourist interest that include museums, art galleries, theaters, night clubs and restaurants.

Tourists throng the Frognerparken that houses a number of bronze and stone sculptures created by the renowned sculptor Gustav Vigeland of Norway. The creativity of the artist will be appreciated in the creation of sculptures of human beings and animals. The German connection with Norway during World War II can be seen in the collection housed at the Norwegian Resistance Museum. A visit to the Viking Ship Museum is a must in the sense that it offers a breath-taking view of the Viking ships located along the Oslofjord.

Visitors revel at the trip to Domkirke Cathedral built during the 17th century. Its pulpit is one of the oldest in the country of Norway. Three superb museums can be seen at the site of the University of Oslo. One of these museums houses coins and medals and it is visited primarily by the numismatists.

They cast a magic spell in the minds of the art lovers.

Lovers of theater have much to cheer about in the sense that they will revel at the visit to the National Theater in the city to witness some of the popular classics of Norway. Visitors to the city of Oslo can make complete use of the Oslo Card or the Oslo Kort to travel through the length and the breadth of the city. This card enables them to travel in city buses and trains to various parts of Oslo. The Oslo Card is normally valid for 3 days.
