Looking forward to my new venture having bought a new caravan with a different company at a different place.

At first- Willerby Solstice

I have been a static caravan owner since 2007. My husband and I bought an 8 berth Willerby Solstice on the Butlins site at Minehead.
We first sublet it in 2008, finding it hard to recoup the extortionate site fees and the rest of the bills.
My husband and I only spent a few weekends a year down there but we just loved the Adult Only breaks- only because of the usually good entertainment they had.
I spent a lot of time there on my own, as I loved being away having time to run, cycle and just relax, doing all the things I love doing. I quite often had runs along the prom and explored many areas down there.
I also loved walking or cycling into town, spending leisurely time browsing and trying out many of the tea rooms/cafes there.

Next one- Abi Polaris

In July 2010, I spotted a pitch that was near to the lake. I was presently on the side of the main road leading in. Whilst not busy on this one way system, it didn't have a great outlook and not much privacy.
So I approached the caravan sales person about putting my existing caravan on this plot but unfortunately, we couldn't do that. If I wanted the pitch, it meant a new caravan. As these pitches don't come up that often, we decided to get a new caravan.
We put an Abi Polaris on this site. It was lovely having the lake very close- but far enough not to worry parents with young children.

NEXT...

After nearly 2 more years, I was finding subletting to be a bit of a nightmare, all the paperwork, advertising etc. I was also getting fed up with the management there, their lack of communication and the way they treated caravan owners- who, they or their guests, contribute to a lot of Butlins facilities, spending money etc.

Finally...

I was looking through the internet when I saw an advert saying that we could transport our existing caravan to another site, FREE of charge. I immediately rang to make enquiries at 2 sites, one at Weymouth, the other at Exmouth.
Both sites invited us along and were owned by Bourne Leisure, the same as Butlins. But instead of Butlins, these are Haven sites.
We were both impressed by the friendliness of the staff on both sites. It seemed that Haven couldn't do enough for their caravan owners. Both sites had owners' lounges, where only owners could go and sit using the free tea and coffee facility there. Exmouth also had its own owners' pool. So anyone subletting, their guests could use this one, only the main fun pool one- which is very nice.
We weighed up the pros and cons for each site and decided because weymouth was a lot smaller and Exmouth a lot bigger, which is what we were use to at Butlins, thought we'd be happier at Exmouth.

Abi Sunningdale

Having made that decision of the site, we then spoke about moving our caravan here. However, because of limited pitches, we got tempted in the end to buy a brand new, top of the range caravan, part exchanging our one at Butlins. The sales manager found us a pitch overlooking not a lake, but the sea!
It's only a 6 berth this time, but has much larger rooms and en suite toilet to master bedroom.
As you open our patio doors and step outside onto our verandah, the sea greets you with its inviting blueness.
We are so looking forward to spending our first year at Devon Cliffs, Exmouth.
We bought it at the end of November and spent one night there on the handing over of the keys at beginning of December 2012. So I for one am getting very excited.
There is so much to do there and in the surrounding areas. I'm sure I won't get bored for years to come. The staff are so accommodating. Even when we 'popped' down in February, they put out stew and dumplings, free, to any owners that were there that weekend (only to visit).
Also on the plus side, Haven are handling all my bookings which also means I don't need to worry about hiring a cleaner either and releases a lot of pressure for me.

Web site

I have made a website so everyone can see my new caravan and all it has to offer. But bookings are taken via Devon Cliffs Exmouth.
