just a write up of my move to New Orleans and a few pictures

The City

I have visited New Orleans many, many times over about 10 years or more. Probably 15 or more times as I would visit sometimes more than once in a year. I never actually got where I could spend every vacation week coming down - not enough money. However, when I could afford it, I would jump on a place and make a visit.

The French Quarter

I especially like the French Quarter. Of course, having moved down here, I found that I could not really afford living there. But it is right across the river.

What I like about the Quarter is that it is so laid back. I am a crossdresser and can go there anytime of the day, and walk just about anywhere in drag and it is fine. They are "used to seeing anything" and not at all shocked. I just love that laid back attitude.

In addition, the gas lite looking street lamps, and the fact that horses and buggies are often seen going up and down the streets give the Quarter a very romantic feel. Staying in a guesthouse down there, I often found myself wanting to just sit or stand by the window and listen to the clop clop of the horses going by.

Parks in the city

The Quarter is quite a draw to the city, but in addition there are many other sections of the city. In addition, there are plenty of parks. There are neighborhood parks in just about every neighborhood though out the city. This picture, for example is of a pond in City Park.

In addition to the rather large City Park, there is Audubon Park. I am not sure which one is the larger of the two but they are both pretty sizable.

The Zoo

Finally there is Audubon Zoo, a part of Audubon Park. There are two other sections in the downtown area. One for insects and the other for fish and other sea creatures. I have not been to those, but the main zoo, I have enjoyed several times.

New Orleans has a lot to offer, and anybody that has not visited, I would recommend that you try and visit, you won't regret it.

Don't why my response didn't take but will try again.

If I come on down I will look you up and we will have to do go to one of those restaurants they have there. Yum!

I would a trip to New Orleans but didn't go, good thing because it was when the city got flooded.

I love Jass and I also wanted to see the latin quarter

I like dixieland jazz which is what is played here as much as any other. Yeah, the flood was a bad time. But I think we are pretty recovered.
