London City was our first stop on our travelogue this August when I with my family took a European Tour adventure.London is a lovely city, welcoming and had a calming and restful effect on us.

London City Here I come.

London city visit on our European travel trip was the best thing that happened to me and my family. After looking for various choices on where to go for a summer break we settled for an European Adventure trip. This trip included visit to 8 European countries in 15 days.
Our tour package had Netherlands,Belgium, Germany,Paris,Rome,Italy Switzerland and UK.

Tourist Attractions In London City.

The best way to visit the tourist attractions in London is to take the Big Bus Tours. One can view the sights of London by guided city tour on the big bus. This is the hop on and hop off tour of the city of London. The bus itself is a double Decker one with upper deck open to the sky with comfortable seating arrangement.
It was drizzling on that morning so we were a bit apprehensive to take the tour. This should not be a issue as free ponchos are available on the bus..and one can pick them from there.
The tour ticket includes
The ticket is valid for 24 hours and you can use it any number of times within those hours. Only keep in mind the starting time and finishing time of the buses as well as the last stop of entry and exit..The ticket includes...
Innumerable Hop-On Hop-offs
Live complimentary :the live commentary is very lively and interesting as the commentators are themselves great entertainers who involve the audience and regale them with stories woven with past and present. They are well worth listening.
Free river cruise:this cruise starts from the London Eye. The entry for it is situated just next to the London Eye. This stunning river cruise is along the river Thames and passes through most of London's bridges. Keep time aside for this.
Free walking tours:One can avail this tour if you are in time for the start of it. This should be an enjoyable experience but our time was short so we could not take this one.
Unobstructed views of all of London and best photographs can taken out.

There are other bus tours available and one can choose according to ones preferences.
To name a few Golden Tours,Evans Evans tours and Premium Tours.

The London Eye-a breathtaking view of the city of London.

Want to get the feel of being on the top of the world, well the London Eye is the place to be on and visit in London.Situated along the banks of the Thames adjacent to the WestMinister Bridge is an awesome structure. The London Eye is huge Giant wheel with large cubicles that are spacious as well as serve as viewing galleries to get the whole view of London from the sky.It is 137metres in height.Another feature is that there are points marked in the cubicles where at a certain point if you stand your picture is clicked.
After getting off, go to the tent below and buy it for your album.
In the same venue you have the London Dungeons for the ones who love a bit of chill and thrill.London Aquarium is another attraction to see the marine life.

Changing of guards and the Lords cricket ground.

London is famous for its Buckingham Palace guards. The soldiers dressed in red tunics and black busbies are changed every 48 hours. We had the opportunity to view one group marching out and another one takes its place.During this time there a huge rush as all tourists scramble to get a view and click pictures. Here one must be careful of ones belongings and stay with your known group.
Lords Cricket Ground
Next on the itinerary was a guided tour inside the Lords Cricket Ground. This included a visit to the journalists gallery where the view of the ground is the best.Next was the lower stands, this was to understand the slope of the Cricket ground.Lastly we were taken inside the players dressing room inside the club house.Unfortunately there was some plumbing problem in the area of the visiting players dressing room so we were not able to go there.Photography inside the club house was strictly prohibited.
There is a huge shop inside the premises where one can shop for their favorite cricketers souvenirs.
The property cost around the Lords cricket Ground is the costliest. For a cricketer to have his name on a board in the dressing room a cricketer has to score a century on the ground. For a bowler he has to take 5 wickets in a match.

Madame Tussauds-A museum of celebrities and famous persons in wax.

Madame Tussauds is a museum that has recreated famous persons into life size wax works. It is situated in the City of London and is one of the most visited attractions. It is always overly crowded.Besides the innumerable wax figures from The Royals to Bollywood,Hollywood, sports and well known persons,it has the House of horrors too.
If you are with children then best bet would be to avoid this attraction.
Not to be missed is the London Taxi Ride as well as the Marvel Heroes 4D show.

Especially if you are short on time then spend less time photographing the waxworks, and take the London Taxi Ride and The Marvel Heroes 4D show.
The London Taxi gives you a glimpse of London past and present in a two seater London Taxi.
The Marvel Heroes 4D show is out of the world with 3D as well as simulator effect.

The End Of Our London Trip.

Our last stop was Madame Tussauds,it was time to say good bye to the City of London..
From here we took an onward journey to Harwich to board a ship to Holland. It was a 3 hour drive, from London.
To sum it up.
London is a beautiful city very welcoming. The weather is at times rainy and sunny. It is always teeming with tourists. At times it can get a bit chilly so do carry warm wear and an umbrella. If you are buying bottled drinking water then check for label spring water not sparkling water. The two are different. Also for restrooms always carry a water bottle for personal use.All rest rooms in Europe do not have water facility in any toilet cubicles.

Besides tourist spots another main attraction is the shopping avenues.Oxford street is a shoppers paradise and one can get items for quite a bargain. The London Taxis are another feature of London and are neat, clean and impeccable, though very expensive.
Do buy souvenirs from shops which sell these as sweat jackets, key chains, magnets, etc.
Get a London city ornament.
