Almost everybody in the today's world has heard about the tiny Indian state of Goa. Its famous for its beautiful beaches, great weather & mouth watering seafood.

Goa - A Tourist's Paradise for Indians & foreigners

Goa - "Meaning a state in south western India", is a tiny state located on the west coast of India. Famous for its beaches, Goa has become a very popular holiday destination for all kinds of tourists be it Asian, European , American or even Australian. The popularity of this state has skyrocketed since its liberation from the Portuguese rule in December 1961.

Goa has a total of 22 beaches along its 105 KM coastline. Each of these will offer you a unique experience. Seafood is the most popular but you will definitely come across many other cuisines ranging from Chinese to Continental to Indian & of course Goan.

Moving away from the coast one comes across the Western Ghats. These Ghats or small mountain ranges will definitely give you a thrilling experience and will treat you to spectacular views ranging from beautiful forests to waterfalls.

Here is a list of things that every tourist can do while in Goa.
1- Try to visit most of the beaches. Each of them is unique & beautiful in its own way.
2- Go on a sunset cruise along the river "Mandovi" which is in Panaji (Capital of Goa)
3 - Try out the water sports on the beaches. These are bound to give you a thrilling
4- Do visit the "Saturday Night Market" located in "Arpora" ( North Goa)
5- Rent a bike or scooter to cruise along the roads as public transport is unreliable.
Bikes are pretty cheap.
6- Visit the "Bom Jesus Basilica" & Se Cathedral in Old Goa (Ex Capital of Goa).
These are famous places of interest mostly because the Bom Jesus Basilica
contains the body of St Francis Xavier.
7- Visit the Christian Art Museum in Old Goa. It is the largest in entire Asia.
8- Eat a lot of seafood as the food served is always fresh & its quite cheap as
compared to other parts of India.

I hope everyone who reads this decides to visit this place at least once in a lifetime. You will definitely have an enthralling experience.

Do note that the best time of the year to go there is Oct - March.

a perfect place. I am yet to visit there but the attraction is always strong to that part!

I spent time in Goa in the 70s - different place then!
