There is such a zest for life! - things are so refreshing and new! South Africa – Nelson Mandela country – our icon of the Rainbow Nation, known affectionately as Madiba – the country is abuzz with an excitement that is almost tangible. At last the Soccer World Cup is HERE!!

Abuzz with excitement - you can feel the buzz - it is almost tangible!

Six years ago they actually said it would not happen. That was then. 2190 days later some mind boggling positive things have happened, inter alia:

TEN World Class Soccer Stadiums have either been built from scratch, or refurbished to meet with FIFA requirements.

Three World Class Air Terminal have been built or totally refurbished

A high speed, state-of-the-art Railway has been built, and has been licensed to go fully operational.

Rapid bus transport systems introduced and running in Johannesburg and Cape Town

Hotels, Guest Houses, Game ranches have been built or jacked up.

But for now, let us just focus on the stadiums: Green Point Stadium - Cape Town, Moses Mabhida Stadium – Durban. Soccer City – Johannesburg (will host the opening & closing matches and ceremonies), Ellis Park Stadium – Johannesburg, Free State Stadium – Bloemfontein, Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium – Port Elizabeth, Mbombela Stadium – Nelspruit, Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace – Rustenburg, Loftus Versveld Stadium – Pretoria

It is not surprising therefore that around the world, supporters are finalising their plans to travel to Africa's first-ever FIFA World Cup.

ALL that is just for starters, because what is on offer in South Africa is so diverse, it is not surprising that so many people agree, once they have been there, that it is indeed a “World in One Country!”

Much more to follow, as we move along, including the wonderful wines, the range of cuisine not available anywhere on the globe, the wild life, the diversity of the plant and insect life....so please watch this space!
