Kyoto is an ancient city with rich of past history which is still maintained until now. Kiyomizudera Temple, Sagano Bamboo Forest, Fushimi Inari Taisha and Gion District are some beautiful vacation destinations in Kyoto to know more about Japan’s past history.

Kiyomizudera Temple

The road to the temple which is located on the hill is quite steep, but still passable by visitors, both children and the elderly. Kiyomizudera Temple built on a hill with beautiful views all around. Most of these temples are built using wood that is not obsolete although it has aged up to more than a thousand years. Around the temple there is a Japanese garden and crystal clear pools with colorful fish in it. In all the way down the Kiyomizudera Temple there is Higashiyama district. It is a line of cafes and unique souvenir shops of Japan. The place is very crowded, but orderly and attractive to shop.

Sagano Bamboo Forest

Sagano Bamboo Forest is located in Arashiyama-western suburbs of Kyoto. Sagano Bamboo Forest is a natural site which is exciting and soothing. We can enjoy Sagano bamboo forest with walking, ride human-drawn rickshaw or ride a bike. In the bamboo forest, there are footpaths around 200 meters. Along the way there is a drinks machine box, it offers bottle or can drink that can be purchased by visitors.

Not far from the Sagano Bamboo Forest, there is a Tenryu Temple. It is the largest Zen temple in Japan. Around the temple there are old houses with Japanese ancient architecture, beautiful garden and stunning scenery on the banks of the river.

Sagano Bamboo Forest and the surrounding areas are a great place to cool down and close to nature.

Fushimi Inari Taisha

In contrast to other temples in Japan, Fushimi Inari Taisha is a long hallway lined with Torii -two rods parallel bars supported on two vertical pillars- dense and orange colored. This temple is situated on the slopes of the mountain. To reach the temple, visitors have to climb hundreds of steps and walkways are shaded of Torii which are forming beautiful corridor. Fushimi Inari Taisha is a temple for Inari - it is the god of fertility as a source of success.

Enjoying Fushimi Inari Taisha at dusk with lights begin to glow is very impressive. Building and Torii will light hit the lights and emit a warm aura that is reassuring.

Gion District

Gion District is a very famous place with Geisha - traditional entertainers artists in Japan- most of them stay there as an art worker who offers traditional Japanese entertainment in restaurants and tea houses. Generally, they work at night.

In Gion District there is also a row of old houses that still retained its authenticity and is still well maintained, it is very interesting to explore.
