Visit the Best of South Dalmatia’s Islands

If you’re looking for the perfect island getaway where you can enjoy the best of beaches, visiting the islands of Brac, Hvar, and Korcula in South Dalmatia would be a good choice.

The reason to visit the south of Dalmatia

With bewitching island beaches, sandy shores, rock-strewn coves, and sun-kissed rocks, you will definitely find the peace and relaxation you want, complete with the modern and traditional mix of Mediterranean culture that only South Dalmatia has. With its beautiful islands, the southern Dalmatia are also reserved with its few resorts settled apart wherein you can enjoy delicious food and wine serve locally. What makes the experience even better and unique is the way of travel – you have to use a boat charter or ferry to cross a part of the Adriatic Sea just to get there.

Travelling from Split

From Split airport taxi or bus transport can be taken to go to the marina of Split Harbor. From there, a boat charter or ferry need to be taken since most of the islands in South Dalmatia like Brac, Hvar, and Korcula aren't connected with the mainland with a bridge and can only be accessed by ferry or rented boat. It is best to go to Split Harbor since the latter is the major ferry hub to gain access to some of southern Dalmatia’s beach islands.

Visiting the best of South Dalmatia’s beach islands

The Dalmatian coast has a lot to be proud of when it comes to showing off some of its best island beaches. For the camping enthusiasts, the beach islands of Ciovo, Cres, and Dugi Otok or Long Island among others are some of the best choices to visit some of nature’s wonders. The island of Losinj has also been known to improve people suffering from allergies and respiratory problems. But if you want the best of southern Dalmatia’s beach islands with easy access and rich culture for the best exotic holiday adventure, visiting the islands of Brac, Hvar, and Korcula is an opportunity that you shouldn’t pass off.

Brac, Hvar, and Korcula

As the biggest island in Dalmatia, Brac is most famous since it is the easiest island to reach through boat or yacht charter from Split. With plenty of resorts to offer, beautiful inlets and ports lined with yachts, Brac is the place to be if you’re in for paragliding, wind surfing, or scuba diving. Also, if you wish to take a “publicity shot”, you could visit the peninsular beach of Zlatni Rat in Bol.

With its mild climate that is perfect for relaxation, lavender fields giving off great smells to seduce tourists, and vineyards producing some of the best grapes to concoct the best of wines, it’s no wonder why tourists find Hvar worth a second visit. What’s more, the island is rich with stories of its history, charming little ports, shady, shallow, and sandy beaches that are best for splashing.

Korcula, on the other hand, has one of the loveliest old towns complete with thick fortress walls from times past. Aside from its medieval looking small towns, the island is also home to wonderful skinny-dipping and sunbathing destinations where sloping rock slabs are the perfect place to lounge, olive groves, and vineyards growing some of the best grape varieties in Dalmatia.

So if you wish to visit the best of South Dalmatia’s beaches and enjoy your days beach combing or lazing under the sun to get that Hollywood tan, a boat charter from Split would be a good step to make.

A good travelogue. You can become a travel writer and earn good money. Just brush up your grammar. Take the first sentence- a stories. You can't have a before a plural noun.
