Learn some interesting facts about taking a cruise that leaves from New York. This cruise vacation can give you more than you thought possible.

A Nice Surprise

Most cruises do not surprise me but the one from New York was shocking to me so I thought a cruise review might help you make this choice. Going on cruises in other areas of America and even out of the country gives you insight into people from all walks of life. The cruises from New York are really special and shocked my brain in a very special way.

Why Your New York Starting Location Is Great

If you start your cruise out of the many ports in Florida they will all be fun in the sun with a Caribbean flair. Most people dress like they just left the beach, the journey to the port has palm trees year round, and reggae music welcomes you on board.

When I cruised out of New York this southern guy enjoyed the ride from the airport. This is a real city of class, with folks in business suits, honking horns, and a hectic pace setting the stage to the port. Just the journey to get on the ship is way different from Florida, Los Angeles, or even Barcelona. Excitement is in the air here.

The People of New York Are Wonderful

Because of the hectic pace of the city and the lack of slow southern accents I did not expect to meet such nice people. We try to book a large table at dinner to meet more people. Keep in mind that where you cruise from usually has folks from that area on the cruise.

Our table had people who had been touched by 9/11/01. We heard stories that touched our hearts. These people were classy and nice. At the shows when they wanted response where people were from it seemed half the audience were New Yorkers. This cruise truly shocked me and changed my opinion of this city and its people. There was a sophisticated attitude on the cruise from New York.

The Destinations For Cruises From New York

Ships sail out of this great city to Canada, Bahamas, Bermuda, and the Eastern Caribbean. Our cruise went along the beautiful lighthouses of New England and Canada. There are four or five day cruises in the summer going here at very reasonable prices. In the fall the seasonal beauty of the leaves raises the price with the décor of the scenery.

Cruise lines such as NCL put their newest big ships here to have a great journey to the Bahamas. Bermuda and even some routes to St Thomas are available. Cruising from here is great because the atmosphere has a different feel from the usual Florida ports.
