London is the capital city of England, and the United Kingdom. The city has some great places to visit. Here are a few of the best places to visit in London, England.

Albert Hall

The Royal Albert Hall is one of the most notable venues in the city of London. It stages the annual BBC Proms in addition to range of classical, rock and pop, ballet and opera concerts. During the Proms season a wide range of classics from the great composers such as Strauss, Wagner, and Arne's Rule Britannia on the last day of the Proms are performed. Overall, Albert Hall is one of the top venues for concerts.

Tower of London

The Tower of London by the River Thames is home to one of the finest collection of crown jewels. Here, there are a fantastic collection of jewels, including the Imperial Crown with its thousands of diamonds. In addition to this, the Tower of London also includes a new armory exhibition in the White Tower with a great collection of armory.

The Tate Modern Art Gallery

The Tate Modern Art Gallery houses a fine collection of modern and contemporary art from the 20th century. The museum covers a broad range of art such as painting, drawing, photography, sculpture and prints. The Tate Modern also has a range of temporary exhibitions and events.

The New Wembley Stadium

The New Wembley stadium is a great venue for soccer, having replaced the former Wembley stadium, and hosts the FA Cup final. The New Wembley also stages other sports events such as Rugby and even American football. In addition to this, music concerts are also hosted at Wembley with top bands playing at the stadium. Aside from the sport, Wembley is also open to stadium tours which cover some of the history of Wembley stadium including the World Cup glory of 1966.

St Paul's Cathedral

St Paul's Cathedral is a great London landmark. The cathedral's dome rises to up to 300ft making it one of the largest buildings in London, and the awe inspiring cathedral is open to visitors. There are guided tours of the church, as well as a cafe and restaurant at the cathedral.

To be strictly accurate, the Royal Albert Hall is not in the City of London, which corresponds roughly to the area within the old walls built originally in Roman times.
