If you have been wondering where you should spend the rest of your years then look no further than Cebu. Start refining your search, pare down the list and then consider Cebu. Take a gander at these three places in Cebu and why they make excellent retirement sanctuaries.

3 Best Places in Cebu Philippines to Retire

“And in the end, it is not the years in your life that count. Rather, it is the life in your years…”-Abraham Lincoln

After you have grown weary trying to accumulate wealth and fortune in your life, it is best to retire so that you can enjoy the money you have made while you still can. However, what is the best time to retire? Well, according to the Philippines’ labor code, one can retire as early as sixty but upon reaching sixty five, one can be compelled to retired (depending on the field of profession one is, however). While this might be true, there is no reason for you not to early on—especially if you feel like your daily job is either taxing or poses a dangerous threat to your lives. Moreover, if you think you can financially handle retirement early, there is no stopping you from doing so.
However, once you have made the decision to retire, how would you know where to spend the rest of your retirement years? Well, Cebu City for one is an excellent place for seniors who are looking for a quiet and relaxed life. Although still considered as the Philippines second largest city, Cebu still retains its own subtle and quaint charm that draws individuals by the droves. Furthermore, there are still enough places in Cebu where you can live harmoniously—both with people and nature. So, before you place the down payment for affordable condo in Cebu, check this list out first for some of the places in the metropolis you can potentially spend your retirement years in:

1.) Alcoy

Located rather far from the city, Alcoy is known for its gorgeous pristine beaches in the refreshing countryside. One of the popular beaches, Tingko Beach has seawaters so pure that you can see the ocean floor. Apart from that, the sand is powdery and immaculately white. As you would be situated near the beach, it is only understandable for water related activities to pepper about the town. Some of the things you can do apart from swimming are snorkeling, fishing and just wading in the beach. So, if a tranquil retirement life is what you are looking for, you would find that in Alcoy.

2.) Mactan

Adjacent to Cebu is the self-proclaimed resort city known as Lapu Lapu City or by its other moniker, Mactan. Advocating the philosophy of living, working and playin, Mactan has seen a steady rise when it comes to career growth and retirement options with the newly constructed Mactan Newtown. However, if you are looking for a quiet life near the beach without being too far from the city, Mactan is an excellent place to live in Cebu City. If you have anything to do in the city, it is only a 45 minute drive away (depending on traffic) and is a mere twenty minutes away from the airport. So, if you wish to experience the laid back feel of living near the beach while enjoying the perks of living near the city as well, spend your retirement years in Mactan.

3.) Busay

Have you ever dreamed of seeing Cebu’s night skyline every time you walk outside? Or perhaps you simply want to see an unobscured view of the Cebu sunrise and sunset? Well, whatever you reasons might be, Busay in Cebu is one of the excellent places to live in. Locally regarded as Cebu’s very own makeshift Tagaytay, Busay is located well into the mountainsides. However, prospective residents will be pleased to know that while it is located at the mountaintops, it is within city proximity and as you go down, you would be located at the heart of Cebu almost immediately. So, if your search for a retirement home is punctuated by the desire of living amidst nature and sprawling greens, Busay is a great location for you.
