Belfast Castle - a Popular Tourist Spot

Belfast Castle is a beautiful castle constructed in the Scottish fortified-house style. It attracts thousands of visitors from all the parts of Europe and from other parts of the world throughout the year. This wonderful edifice was built way back in 1870 in the Scottish fortified-house style. Hence it is a marvel to the eyes of photography enthusiasts that throng the castle in large numbers to take the photographs of this breath-taking landmark of Belfast.

Belfast Castle is situated at the Belfast Castle Estate that spans about an area of 200 acres. The edifice stands tall on the slopes of the Cave Hill in the city. It is interesting to note that the Belfast Castle was presented to the city of Belfast in the year 1934. It was open to public after it underwent restoration. History says that the Belfast Castle was built by the 3rd Marquis of Donegal.
