Botanical Garden.

The Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya in Kandy in Sri Lanka is really beautiful. It is huge in size and very well maintained.


Peradeniya is situated 5 kilometers away from Kandy in Sri Lanka. It is in the hills. It is more than 140 acres in size.


There are huge entry fees for entering in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya in Kandy in Sri Lanka.


There are a number of flowering plants in Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. Most of the flowering plants are very colourful.


The name Peradeniya originated from the term Peru meaning guava and Deniya meaning plains. So the Botanical Gardens are known across the world with that name.


Tropical trees like Palms, Bamboos, Lianas find place in the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens. They grow well and are well maintained.


There are other varieties of trees like Ferns, orchids and other trees. The trees are very spongy and thick.


At the entrance there is map given. It guides the tourists as to which direction to go because the Botanical garden is huge in size.

Red Flowers.

The red flowering trees are beautiful. They look more like leaves than flowers and does not have very catchy fragrance.

Bamboo tree.

The bamboo trees are beautiful. They are long and are situated along a big area. They grow faster than many other trees.

Spice Garden.

There is a beautiful spice garden in the middle. The main spices that are there include cardamom, coves, pepper and vanilla.

Stems and branches.

Some of the stems and branches of the trees are fat and no body can see the sun as the top branches form a canopy.

Yellow flowers.

The yellow flowers are equally pretty like the red flowers. Both of them are known for the beautiful appearance than the smell.

Sri Lanka.

Sri Lanka is famous for different types of herbs and spices. Majority of those spices like cardamom, jaitri, jaifal and exported to different parts of the world.

Visitors should visit the Botanical Garden.

It is very difficult to cover the entire area on road. But if visitors travel to Sri Lanka they should surely visit the Peradeniya Botanical Garden.
