Bath, a place to fall in love!

When I first went to England I didn’t know anything about Bath. I was attending English classes with a group of friends and our teacher so we only had the weekends free to go sightseeing. On one of those weekends my teacher suggested visiting Bath and there we went. It was a great surprise! Bath is no doubt a small but lovely city where you can have the best photographs ever taken.

Going back in time

It is situated in the South west of England in the county of Somerset along the Kennebec River and deemed as a “Distinctive Destination" by the National Trust for Historic Preservation. It is clearly best known for its roman baths, a natural hot spring that rises there every day and has been doing so for thousands of years. Because of this ancients considered this a gift of gods and a sacred place. Visiting such an old place is one of the most impressive things I’ve ever done; sitting by the big central pool as you feel the heat coming out and walking along the upper galleries is like transporting yourself centuries ago. It is quite difficult not to feel like getting into the water and experience the pleasure it must be.

A feast of colours.

Apart from its awesome Georgian architecture, Bath has beautiful parks and a great neat flower decoration all over; every house or building has flowerpots of a wide range of colours. The grass of the parks are spectacular green and I must say that eating super red strawberries with cream sitting on the Royal Victoria Park, which is overlooked by the Royal Crescent, was one of the best relaxing moments of my life. I will remember that for ever. Later as we were walking along The parade Gardens we luckily could enjoy a music band which was under the gazebo performing classical pieces.

We stayed there only for a day but it was such a wonderful experience that I’ve been looking forward to coming back since then, so if you have the chance of visiting Bath try to stay longer as you will never regret it.
