This article tells about the traditional wedding "Sasak tribe" on the island of Lombok. A beautiful island, with its beaches of soft white sand ... and the attraction of a unique and diverse customs. Very worthy of consideration into your year-end tourist destination ...

The unique tradition of customary marriages sasak terrible

Lombok Island is a small island near of Bali Island, a beautiful island with beautiful scenery surrounds the beach. I really like the island of Lombok because a view is beautiful, and very unpretentious cultural diversity. Although not well known and worldwide such as Bali, but in fact the island of Lombok has a unique charm and is more challenging than Bali.

A small island, surrounded by gently sloping beach with gentle waves ripple. And contour of the land is hilly lush green ... really soothing for us who want to fill the end of year holidays .... The life of his own people is also very earthy and friendly, just because of lack of promotion of tourism, making this beautiful little island somewhat lagging from Bali which are already known to the world.

In addition to beautiful natural scenery, with a stretch of beach around this small island, the beauty of the mountains can still be found on Lombok. What I like from the island of Lombok is cultural tourism, particularly regarding the wedding traditions of indigenous peoples.Marriage Ceremony sasak tribal customs often tinged with eloped with tradition as follows:

Tradition Soloh or usual term is proposed or in Sasak language "soloh". Well, if the woman's parents welcome, no problem. But, if not, it becomes a hard slap to the prospective in-law and her parents. So, for that is "merariq" or have eloped.

The procedure of marriage itself is often associated with traditional wedding ceremony "Serah sorong aji krama" which has being an ancient tradition since time immemorial. If the ceremony is not implemented, then prepare to get scorn and gain the rumors by the local people. because it is considered a disgrace.

Sorong Serah comes from the word "push" which means encouraging and "deliver" means surrender. Thus, sliding the hand over a declaration agreement by both parties, both the men and women in marriage procession terune (grooms) and dedare (Candidate of the bride).

Serah Soroh ceremony is one of the most important series of ceremonies at the traditional wedding procession Sasak in Lombok. The marriage procession in full is as follows.

Mesejati

Parties to the bridegroom's family sent some local community leaders or traditional leaders to report to the head of the village or hamlet head to announce the marriage of the identity of the prospective groom and then report to the family of the prospective bride.

Selabar

Announce the bride's family who were followed by talks customs and traditions include "aji Krama" which consists of the value of 33-66-100 with currency valuation basis "Kepeng Bolong " or "kepeng jamaq", even sometimes the show this selabar coupled with the demand for carers as well.

Taking Wali

Taking the guardian of the woman, can directly when selabar or a few days after the execution selabar. It all depends on the agreement of both parties. "Wali" is mean a marriage witness

Taking Appointments

Talking about "sliding the hand over and aji manners" in accordance with the customs prevailing in the village or villages of origin prospective bride.

Sorong Serah
The core implementation of the "Sorong serah" is the official announcement of the wedding of a man with a woman and it should no longer talking about matters relating to customs. simply is the event contract illegitimate!

Nyongkolan

Usually, the next or a few days after the marriage ceremony, or even on the same day, the family man accompanied the bride and groom came to visit the family of women who are accompanied by relatives and extended family, neighbors and friends of the bride by using traditional clothes or accompanied by gamelan "Beleq Gendang / drum major. " in a long line procession, which was so crowded and resembles a carnival ... it's one thing that is very interesting and create traffic jams ....:)
Accommodate the progress of time, sometimes the bride chose to use the rock songs that are to enjoy doing or a trend, dancing and prancing while walking miles away ... like a walking disco. For those of us who first saw, this was unique, funny, interesting and certainly make a bad road vehicles bandwidth usage ... wow ...

Reverse Lampak

It is tradition at the end of the traditional marriage ceremony Sasak in Lombok. Both the bride with parents the man would visit specifically to the woman's parents' house. And in the end, all peoples pray ... The bride will live happily ever after ....

There are still a lot I want to tell about the culture of indigenous Sasak in Lombok ... I will be connecting in another article .... So if you plan to visit Bali, Lombok ... Stop and rest to the Beautiful and unique Things you can find there. ... Happy Holidays ....
