A visit to Xel-ha, Mexico is a must-do if you are on the Yucatan penisula. It is a natural aquarium ideal for snokeling.
Xel-ha
Xel-ha is located about 40 miles south of Cancun, Mexico. It is a beautiful natural aquarium ideal for snokeling. It is a place to share in celebrating the biological parade of the Riviera Maya. My husband and I stopped there on the way back from Tulum. We found it beautiful, wonderful for snorkeling - and very very crowded. One had to fight for a place to put your beach town on the small beach. Even in the water we kept bumping into people. I often thought that the number of people allowed into the park should be limited to a reasonable number of snorkelers. But, it is beautiful and worth a visit for a few hours just to see the under-water life which teems with colorful fish.
I just checked the prices, which have gone up considerably since I was there. It is pricey - $71.00 USD for the day. But I have never seen a more beautiful natural aquarium as Xel-ha.
If you don't mind crowds, Xel-ha is a great place for you and your children. They can snorkel in safety and enjoy the beauty of the area. Happy traveling!

That looks beautiful, unfortunately I cannot swim, and my wife hates crowds, but I think we would still like to go to Xel Ha if we could.
