Ho Chi Minh City has an old name is Saigon. People who have born before the 70s decade will know that Saigon was a famous city in the Far East. It is the biggest city in Vietnam. So many people live in here and it is pretty crowed. Most citizens in Ho Chi Minh City love to call this city is Saigon.

Saigon citizens are friendly and honest. You can ask for help easily in Saigon city, there are many people can use English as their second language, but their accent is not so clear. You can not get lost in this city, because there are a lot of people around you and you can ask them for direction. They are really nice and friendly.

But there are some people who want to have a lot of money without working. They may steal your wallet and cell phone, so take care of your wallet. Polices can not help you to find your lost wallet again. They can help you sometime but not all the time.

There are a lot of people are selling their goods on the streets. They will follow you and try to sell something for you. Don’t shout at them and keep your wallet safety. All things you need to do is keeping silence and walk faster. You can say: “No, sorry”. They don’t beat you or do anything else.

Traffic in Saigon city is terrible, especially in rust hour! You cannot move anywhere by bike or car at that time. So avoid going out at rust hour. They are from eight o’clock to ten o’clock at the morning and from four o’clock and six o’clock at the evening. However, if you want to see girls in ao dai, a traditional fashion of Vietnam, you can pass some high schools at seven AM, students will go to schools at that time.

If you want to visit all the interesting places in this city, you need to stay at least two days. There are two most interesting places for traveller, the district One and the district Five. You can visit other interesting places around Saigon, such as Cu Chi tunnel, Can Gio mangrove forest, Can Gio beach…

The district one is the center of Saigon. It have been built from the 20s decade. You can see the old Ave Maria Church and the old Center Post Office there. There are many restaurants, shopping plazas and coffee shops in district one. You can also visit Ben Thanh market, the great old market of Saigon, and the old President Palace in there. Walking in district one is a good idea. You can view this entire lively place.

The district Five is the center of the Chinese people in Vietnam. You can shopping all day in there, try the Chinese food and visit the old Chinese Big Market (they call it Cho Lon). Especially at nigh, there are a lot of Chinese food restaurants.
Saigon is a friendly city, it welcome everyone come and goes. You should visit here once. A lot of people come back here, they love the style of this city, and maybe you will too.
