Here are some of the most expensive luxury sports cars ever produced.
- Maybach Exelero: $8 million
- Lamborghini Veneno Roadster: $4.5 million
- W Motors Lykan Hypersport: $3.4 million
- Lamborghini Sesto Elemento: $2.2 million
- Koenigsegg CCXR: $2.173 million
Maybach Exelero: $8 million
The Maybach Exelero is famous for being portrayed in an episode of long-running German show Cobra 11, in which it is used in the ending chase of the episode "Freundschaft". Maybach for Fulda Tires test new tires designed the Exelero as a one-off in 2004. Hip-Hop mogul and artist Bryan Williams famously known as Birdman bought the car, which has 700 horsepower and a twin turbo V12 engine, from Maybach in 2011 for $8 million. Rap icon Jay-Z featured the luxury car in the music video for "Lost One" in 2006. The Maybach Exelero can allegedly go from 0-60mph in 4.4 seconds and has a top speed of 218 mph.
Lamborghini Veneno Roadster: $4.5 million
This limited edition version of the Lamborghini Veneno was produced to commemorating the 50th anniversary of Automobili Lamborghini. Only nine cars were made in 2014. The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster has exclusive alloy wheels, Rosso Veneno (red) body colour, and 2-bucket seats made in forged composite, woven carbon-fibre carbon skin interior upholstery. The supercar boasts a top speed of 221 mph and can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 2.9 seconds.
W Motors Lykan Hypersport: $3.4 million
Designed by Ralph Debbas, seven Lykan Hypersports have been sold. The manufacturer claims it has a top speed of 245 mph and can go from 0-62 mph in 2.8 seconds. Part of the hefty price tag is due to the diamond-encrusted headlights and taillights with built-in sapphires. The Lykan Hypersport is the first car to be designed and produced indigenously in the Arab World. This 2-door coupé is US$1 million more expensive than the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which is currently the fastest production car in the world.
Lamborghini Sesto Elemento: $2.2 million
The Sesto Elemento’s 5.2 liter V10 engine creates 570 horsepower and most of the car is made from light-weight carbon fiber. The Sesto Elemento's name is a reference to the atomic number of carbon, in recognition of the car's extensive use of carbon fibre. Just 20 cars were produced between 2011 and 2013 by Italian carmaker Lamborghini and were intended for track use only.
Koenigsegg CCXR: $2.173 million
Designed by Christian von Koenigsegg and David Crafoord, the Koenigsegg CCXR is an environmentally-friendly variant of Koenigsegg CCX, as it uses ethanol biofuel. The special properties of the fuel also allow the car to produce a huge 1,004 horsepower. There were 49 CCX-Series cars produced between 2006 and 2015. The name CCX is an abbreviation for Competition Coupé X, the X commemorating the 10th anniversary (X being the Roman numeral for ten) of the completion and test drive of the first CC vehicle in 1996.

Shamarie, excellent article as always and I loved the pictures. These cars are all nice but with the price tag being so steep I don't know anyone personally that has one. I know a lot of people that would like to have one though. I think the Maybach Exelero is my favorite. Our speed limits around town are 35 and on the freeway 65 miles an hour so in reality I'm not sure where anyone would drive a car like this. Smiles to you today and always.

It is insane to think of paying that much for a car, I don't think I could even dream of it, I would buy several houses and give some away before spending that much on a car.

I rode in a sport car once but it didn't go very fast as it only had three wheels...
