The Giant Buddha Statue.
The Giant Buddha Statue is Thimphu is one of the major tourist attractions of the palace. The majority of the population of Bhutan are Buddhists, so the statue has huge importance in the Asian country.

The statue is 51.5 meters tall. From the basement the statue looks huge. Very significantly the face had been constructed exactly like Gautam Buddha.

There is a beautiful valley at the surroundings of the Buddha statue. The hills and the valley creates a heavenly atmosphere.
17th highest statue.
The statue is considered to be the 17th highest statue of Buddha in the world. The highest statue is situated at China, in Spring temple which is 128 meters tall.

Buddha had been constructed in a sitting pose and posture with his legs folded and the hands in a specific movement.

The statue is situated at Kuensel Podrang, very close to the capital city of Bhutan, that is Thimphu. The entire city of Thimphu is visible from the Statue.

The atmosphere around the Statue is very peaceful. There is a huge field and thereafter there is a cliff. Fresh air creates soothing experience for the people.

The construction of the statue is not complete. Still work is going on. Within 6 months it will turn out to be one of the important tourist destinations of the world.

Once the construction is complete the site of Giant Statue is going to be hot tourist destination in Thimphu.
