When you first hear the pitch,you find yourself in the "Either". Take a breath and ask more questions...
The phone rings...
A snappy booming voice comes loudly out of your phone.The person quickly asks for you by name and then immediately starts talking about a wonderful cruise to the Caribbean!You try to get a word in edgewise but this guy just doesn't even slow down at all.He just goes on and on and on.After 10 minutes of nonstop talking he finally asks you what you think and if you have any questions? Questions? Oh yes,you should have some questions about a Caribbean cruise,like when is this going to happen and how do you get there? Will there be a rental car or do I need to find and rent one on my own? How did this person get my phone number? Why are they calling me? How long will this cruise be? Where will we be going exactly?
Ten minutes of questions...
So you find that questions are one thing and answers are something else all together. Time after time you ask a question and find the answer has nothing to do with the question what so ever! At about this point you decide this has gone on long enough and start to TRY to end the conversation tactfully. Easier said than done though.This guy is persistent to put it mildly. But what you soon learn is this guy is just a salesman trying to find a sucker in a hurry and your not it. So when you want to save a dime,don't do it over the phone and don't do it when traveling.Even by boat...
